The baseball team won 20-0 for their fourteenth win of the season. They have now won eight straight games and outscored their opponents 106-17 during the streak. They also have not allowed a run in their last three games.
Dreyton Gleason got the win, allowing no runs in four innings before the game was ended due to the run rule. Offensively, Thomas Farnham drove in three runs. At the same time, Hayden Goveia, Mickey Smith, Hunter Koehler and Zain Burton all knocked in two runs, with Gavin Hogencamp and Cameron Fontenot plating one.
“The boys attacked the baseball early in the counts," Head Coach Billy Fregozo said. “They hit the ball hard through the infield and drove gaps. The entire team has been pitching in at the plate. Dreyton on the mound was outstanding with pitch counts and keeping his ball down in the strike zone.”
Karina Pulu continued her incredible season with four more hits for the softball team — including a home run — in River Valley's 22-0 triumph. Kennadee Brown led the way with five RBIs, while Carissa Campos knocked in three.
Trinity Williams tossed five shutout innings and struck out nine. She also drove in one run along with Tamarie Williams, Kaelynne Niswonger and Chastiny Gonzalez.
Both the baseball and softball teams are set to play Tonopah Valley today for the start of a two-game series, with first pitch scheduled for 5 p.m.
