KINGMAN — The River Valley softball team extended their winning streak to 11 with a 22-0 win over Kingman Academy on Thursday.
The Dust Devils got the offense going in the first inning with six hits, including a pair from Karina Pulu and Tamarie Williams. They also knocked in two runs, along with Trinity Williams and Chastiny Gonzalez, to take a 6-0 lead.
Pulu, who homered in the first inning, also hit one in the fourth and finished the game with six RBIs. River Valley added 16 more runs to win by run rule as the entire startling lineup drove in at least a run. Tamarie finished second on the team with five RBIs, while Gonzalez and Kaelynne Niswonger combined for five. Trinity did not allow a hit and struck out eight in four innings.
“The team hit as a whole hit well today," head coach Tim Williams said. "Karina hit the furthest home run I have seen for River Valley. The ball traveled over the left field fence and over the backstop of the baseball field, finally stopping on the baseball field momentarily interrupting the game. The defense was once again strong led by Trinity Williams on the mound. The team has allowed only one run in the over the past nine games."
The Dust Devils are now 14-7 this year and will host Senior Night on Friday against American Leadership Academy with first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m.
