MOHAVE VALLEY — The River Valley football team completed another spring season of practices in year one under head coach Adam King.
The new leader of the Dust Devils, King said it's been really exciting to be able to coach this team.
"They have all embraced the change and showed marked improvement from the first day," King said. "Our coaching staff has been very pleased with that. As a new coach coming in, there is a different vision in place, and it's on those young men to take that into the weight room and onto the field to make it work."
River Valley is coming off a season where they went 6-3 after their lengthy playoff run in 2021. They graduated seven seniors last year, including their starting quarterback, running back and leading receiver, and two leading tacklers on defense.
The team is heading into summer training, and King hopes to continue getting the community's support.
"We expect to prepare and perform at a level that we can all be proud of," King added. "That's going to require maximum effort from everyone to get the job done. "Hopefully, the community sees that with our performance on the field and how our boys carry themselves in the community.
River Valley will open their season on the road against Yuma on August 18 at 7 p.m. They will have their home opener against Dysart on August 25, with home games later in the season against Kofa, Kingman, Odyssey Institute and Chino Valley.
