River Valley prepares for matchup against Chino Valley

MOHAVE VALLEY – River Valley High School is set to honor their seniors on Friday night in their final regular season game of the season.

Coming in with a record of 6-3, the Dust Devils are set to play Chino Valley High School with a potential playoff spot on the line. River Valley comes in as the 12th-ranked team in the region and will be facing a team that is 2-7 this year.

“Like many others on our schedule this year, they are dangerous on any given Friday," head coach Adam King said. “We need to increase the level of focus this week to put ourselves in a good position to end the year.”


River Valley began the season 6-1 but lost their last two games. Running back Jayden Plotkin continues to lead the offense. The junior has 1,419 yards on the season to lead the team and has also scored 17 touchdowns. The Dust Devils are averaging over 300 yards on the ground per game, with Kaleb Knueven coming on strong late in the season.

Chino Valley has wins this season against Bourgade Catholic High School and Window Rock High School this year. However, they lost 67-0 in their last game against Wickenburg High School, a team the Dust Devils beat 26-13.
