The Dust Devils finished 2-1-1 in the four games. Danika Collins recorded the only goal on an assist from Chloe Gorrell in the Devils' 1-0 victory over Valley Christian. Gorrell then scored twice and Collins and Addisyn West once each in a 4-1 victory over Vista Grande High School.
River Valley lost 3-1 against McClintock High School, with Collins scoring on an assist from Gorrell. West had the lone goal in a 1-1 draw against Tempe High School. Goaltender Alissa Willard also played well, stopping a pair of penalty kicks.
"The girls did an amazing job at the tournament, only allowing five goals the entire weekend," head coach Ed Marquez said. "It speaks volumes on how far our defense has come. They were in every game, and I couldn’t be more proud of them for how they have started the season."
